THE ALICECODE PROGRAM

The AliceCode program trains young girls, from the fourth grade and up, for the software field.

The AliceCode organization was established in order to address educational, employment and gender needs in the technology field.

As a result of the precise, employment-oriented training that our organization offers, within a decade you will see our graduates working in high-tech companies in technological positions in the full range of technology employment in Israel and worldwide .

The program is based upon the cyclical track of the educational curricula. It provides the participants with both short term and long term horizons, and it enables the program graduates to achieve smooth integration into the high-tech and technological employment world.

AliceCode program participants are exposed to diverse worlds of content as part of the curriculum, in order to enable them to develop creativity, technological competence, analytical and algorithmic skills as well as personal development and leadership skills.

The AliceCode program creates a professional community in the software and entrepreneurship field. All the while, it enables the program participants to develop and polish personal skills such as public speaking and presentation, teamwork, instruction and counseling skills and leadership and management ability.

AliceCode students participate with great success in technological events and competitions, alongside software engineers - and their work is evaluated on an equal basis with that of seasoned professionals, without any concessions given for age or gender.

In addition to offering professional development and acquisition of knowledge in leading software languages to its participants, the AliceCode program is an empowering experience - mentally, emotionally and practically.

Limudia

THE ALICECODE “LIMUDIA”

ALICECODE IS AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE GLOBAL CODECLUB. ALL PROGRAM CONTENTS ARE APPROVED ACCORDING TO A CODECLUB SYLLABUS. PROGRAM GRADUATES RECEIVE CODECLUB CERTIFICATION.

Certification: Scratch, HTML, Python + Teamwork, Public Speaking, Time Management

Program for students in the 4th and 5th grades.

A basic program designed to build the foundations for, and provide familiarity with, the technological environment.

The Limudia program is designed for girls in the 4th and 5th grade and takes place over two years.

In the course of the program, the students are exposed to the technological world through hands- on learning experiences. They learn the logic, thought process and practical application of programming languages in order to acquire a solid foundation that will prepare them for the certification program.

During the Limudia program, our students visit international technology organizations such as Google, Facebook, and Intel. They meet the development and software teams there, gain practical experience in the computer laboratories, and deal with technological challenges, which enables them to discover their personal potential in this world and to feel a high level of efficacy in the field.

Certification: Full Stack WEB Developer

A program designed for graduates of the Limudia program.

The certification program is the AliceCode organization’s core program. The program takes place over four years, in the course of which our students learn a variety of programming languages, and acquire a range of professional knowledge that is essential to succeeding as programmers. This includes learning about databases, constructing and running systems and more.

Along with their studies and their experience creating advanced projects as part of the AliceCode "Hamama" program, our students also take part in professional practical projects at software development and start-up companies.

Counselors

“LIMUDIA” TRAINERS

For me, AliceCode is so much more than personal commitment. It is empowerment for women that enables us to breakthrough into the technology and high-tech world beginning at an early age.”

Program designed for graduates of the certification program/high-school students.

Current students and graduates of the certification program are role models for the students in the Limudia program. We train these older students as professional counselors who are able to transmit knowledge and curricula to the students in the Limudia.

The counselor training program integrates into the community involvement and service activities common at high schools. By participating in this program, the high school students earn credits towards their matriculation certificate.

High school students who were not participants in the AliceCode program but are studying in technology and computers tracks, may apply to participate in the counselling program along with the AliceCode program graduates. If the girls are found to be suitable for the counselling program, they will be entitled to undergo certification studies at a subsidized price.

EXPOSURE MEETINGS FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS IN THE PROGRAM

From May through July each year, we carry out a number of exposure meetings in preparation for the studies during the next year. The exposure meetings are designed to simulate a real meeting in the AliceCode program.

Each exposure session is one hour long: for 45 minutes, the girls take part in the lesson and the girls’ parents receive detailed information about the track from an AliceCode representative. During the last 15 minutes, the parents are allowed to enter the classroom and to form an impression of their daughter’s initial experience. During the demo session, the parents are not present in the computer classroom.

Obligatory attendance for: A girl who is interested in the field, accompanied by a parent or adult.
